Before you visit Agonda Beach make note that Agonda Beach is NOT A GOA PARTY BEACH

We appreciate your assistance in protecting the turtles by ensuring there is

NO MUSIC, LOUD PARTIES, LOUD TALKING, FIREWORKS OR BRIGHT LIGHTS ON
AGONDA BEACH
AFTER 10:00 PM
To avoid stiff fines and/or Indian jail please comply.

As you can see, there is a turtle hatchery in the  middle of Agonda beach, guarded by local conservation protectionists. Agonda Beach is a vital breeding site for the protected Olive Ridley Sea Turtle, one of only four turtle breeding beaches in Goa.
The turtles emerge from the ocean in darkness to build nests in the sand and lay their eggs. Any lights or noise at night will frighten them, and prevent them from taking this vital journey up the beach to lay their eggs. After 10:30 PM all lights should be dimmed and all music, loud conversation or any form of beach party must end.
You are warmly invited to party during night hours at designated beaches such as nearby Palolem, or northern beaches such as Baga, Anjuna, Calangute and Arambol where turtle breading has been already extinguished.
If you witness people breaching these requirements in Agonda please call: 1-800-833-1511.
Thank you for your consideration and care for the precious turtles.
